The Excelsior salmon fly size 1 1/2. This was one of George Kelson's early patterns he had exhibited in Berlin in 1880, and at the Fisheries Exhibition in London in 1883 (which now is the Flyfishers' Club in London). As with many of his patterns, it was subject to change over the years, but the general features of this remained more or less the same.
